A truly authentic restaurant. Chef Lawrence cooks outstanding plates, in a cosy atmosphere, with overall great service. You have plenty of variegated choices for all tastes and preferences. I highly recommend visiting this local business, and we'll be back for sure.
Simplicity...describes the friendly service and Ambiente ,the food may have been "Simple" BUT looked and tasted amazing. We had Chicken & Leek Pie on Bubble & Squeak with Veggies and gravy. We have never tasted bubble & squeak like this, Just Sooo good. We were well looked after and got to meet a very friendly chap at the next table which made the experience even better. The sunday roasts are supposed to be the best. Will definatly be going back. Thankyou so much
It is a lovely little hidden gem of a restaurant that I have viewed on many a family walk in the past. Very local to me, so I decided to book a bit of late birthday get together with a few friends after work on Friday..and I wasn't disappointed. From the beautiful food which stimulated all of my senses. ..to the charm and warmth of the owner Lawrence. It was a wonderful dining experience, a pleasant atmosphere, albeit very quiet that particular night. The evening was still fun and delightful with wonderful food and wonderful companions...win..win situation!!
Fantastic local restaurant with amazing atmosphere and staff. Food is excellent and home-made. Very generous portions. Recommend: pork ribs and duck breast
What a wonderful, unexpected find this restaurant is! Tucked away in a delightful little area of the old Rotherhithe Village. The food is fab (we had fish & steak). Good sized portions and both meals came out baking hot. It was all utterly delicious. On the night we went Lawrence the chef was somehow managing to run the restaurant single handed as well as cook - all without seeming flustered. He was Herculean! We had a great night, and will definitely be going back. Highly recommended.
We booked a group lunch here after our son's christening. Lawrence was amazingly helpful beforehand in booking us in as well as organising a menu for us on the day. The food and service was excellent, we couldn't have asked for a better setting. The pork belly especially was a highlight.
Excellent experience. Friendly chef and personal atmosphere. It was the best prepared and tasting meal I've had in London in a long time. I was perfectly content after the meal so I didn't have space to try the home made desserts, but will definitely make room for that next time... And I look forward to trying the other great sounding options on the menu and bringing along a few more friends who I think will love it too. Thank you.
Called into Simplicity for a quick dinner. Wow what a lovely homely feeling this place has. Great service staff and even got to chat with the owner/chef, so friendly and welcoming! Excellent meals well priced and big portions! Great taste and nice wines too. One of the best local friendly places around to have a nice meal!
